Bathroom leakage specialist Megasealed has launched a new stone restoration service to meet customer demand for quality natural stone surface sealing, polishing and restoration around Australia.

The company has been stopping leaking showers and balconies without removing tiles for over 16 years, and identified a need in the market in recent years for these services, as customers who were having work completed often asked who could help with their stone woes.

“With stone becoming a lot more affordable, there has been an increase of its installation in more homes, so there’s a lot of demand in Australia for maintenance and upkeep,” said Megasealed’s Stone Project Manager Greg McCann. “Over recent years we realised that we needed to expand our service. We had always worked with stone, but now it’s a full inline service that we can offer our customers.”

Over the past few months Megasealed has been employing stone masons across Australia, with top tradesmen based in all main centres. The company has partnered with a specialist Canadian business that develops top quality stone care cleaning, sealing and polishing products, and has purchased the latest polishing machines from Italy.

Because stone is a natural material, commented McCann, it is not very resilient to anything acidic and can react by showing stains, etchings and scratches on its surface. “We are now able to remove that damage and even stubborn and old blemishes can be dramatically improved by up to 50- 70 percent. So for an example a property manager or landlord would be able to improve a red wine stain on a bench top to get it looking great for new tenants.”
