Whether you’re tiling or rejuvenating the tiled areas of your home or need a strong grout for commercial purposes, an epoxy grout offers a range of benefits over normal cement-based grouts, included strength, flexibility and resistance to weather, chemicals and stains.
Epoxy grout is a very strong alternative to cement-based grout. Because a good epoxy grout will be made entirely from epoxy components, it will not shrink over time, and because it’s flexible, it moves with the building, so won’t crack. It’s also highly resistant to chemical damage, making it an ideal material for commercial areas such as kitchens and workshops
Epoxy grouts are much more water resistant than cement-based grouts, and as such are a great solution for balconies and other outdoor areas, as well as bathrooms and kitchens. Megasealed’s Megagrout MG11 has an absorbency rate of 0.0001%, making it more water resistant than ceramic tiles.
This lower absorbency means it’s more stain resistant than cement-based grouts, making cleaning easier – and more environmentally friendly, as you won’t need harsh bleaches and chemicals to keep your grout looking like new.
A good epoxy grout will be made with 100% epoxy components, and will not shrink over time. They also come in a range of colours, making it easier to match tile to grout, and old grout to new grout. Colours include mid and light grey, black, beige and dark beige, cream and white.
Epoxy grouts can be used on mostly any kind of tile, including glass, brick, porcelain, ceramic, quarry tiles, travertine, terrazzo and natural stone tiles with a separation from 1.5mm up to 12mm.
