Stone restoration (marble cleaning and marble polishing for example) will bring dull, scratched and lifeless stone back to life. Restoring your stone will remove light scratches, remove or reduce marks in stone, remove or reduce stains and bring the stone back to life with either gloss or honed finish. All stone can be sealed upon completion to protect against stains.
Many people who associate with natural stone assume that it is a permanent material that does not require maintenance or care. After new stone is installed, permanent damage often occurs from neglect, incorrect cleaning methods and using chemicals that are not formulated for natural stone care.

It is imperative to know the exact stone that is to be maintained. Stone is natural and may have adverse reaction to certain cleaning chemicals and procedures. Most stones are also natural alkalis and so are dirt and soil, therefore, stone and dirt are attracted to each other often making cleaning very difficult. This makes the proper selection of cleaning procedures and chemicals for stone very important.
Regardless of the type of surface, (honed, polished, flamed, sand blasted, sawn, brush hammered) to be maintained, all stones should be protected with sealers. The delicate colours of natural stone can be altered by the improper use of chemicals, mopping with dirty solutions, using chemicals that are not designed for natural stone care and sunlight can fade the colour of natural minerals.
Maintenance cleaning after Megasealed treatment
Natural stone is one of the most difficult surface materials to maintain. Regular cleaning will remove grit and gradually draw out any marks, which is important in the maintenance cycle. Regular cleaning will also gently rejuvenate the stone. Strong detergents, corrosive liquid or scouring powders can damage the stones surface so proper care is imperative. Some cleaning chemicals will also destroy the sealer.
Using a good quality mop (closed loop cotton string), proper mopping bucket with wringer, good ph neutral detergent (free of harsh chemicals) and plenty of water is the best method for regular maintenance.
